Program Features

Kids Adventures Academy at Wheaton Woods established in 2015, serving families in the community. The preschool program opens at 7:00AM and closes at 6:00PM, Monday through Friday. Kids Adventures Academy follows MCPS Administration Offices for snow days and emergency closures.  We accept children two years of age to five years old.

The program offers The Creative Curriculum for Preschool.  The curriculum is a comprehensive research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning. Using exploration and discovery as a way of learning, The Creative Curriculum for Preschool enables children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills.

In addition to our curriculum, Kids Adventures Academy also features monthly music, Spanish, sign language, yoga, Soccer Shots, and in-house special activities.  Almost all of our specialists are included in the tuition price and are optional for children. Our four-year-old classroom takes a field trip once a month during the school year. We host special family events once a month.

Kids Adventures Academy understands the importance of supporting children and their families through transitions. We extend our full efforts in collaborating with Wheaton Woods Elementary School to offer the best transitional assistance for our students. We support our students that are transitioning into kindergarten with a visit to a kindergarten classroom. Parents of Kids Adventures Academy are given an opportunity to meet the principal of Wheaton Woods Elementary School at one of our parent events.

Snacks

We offer a light breakfast and two healthy snacks each day.  Our light breakfast varies.  We offer cereal, bagels with cream cheese, hot oatmeal, oatmeal bars, pancakes, boiled eggs, and yogurt. For morning and afternoon snack we offer a fresh fruit or vegetable along with cheese or a dry snack. Snacks change daily.
